The Power of the "Prometheus Instinct" in Men

When you isolate each trait of being a man and master it, you literally have a Superhero's utility belt for living a powerful life.
Every now and again, big ideas just STRIKE, and then there’s a whole new set of tools, techniques, and skills to harvest for you.
Would you be surprised to learn there is an all new way that men can look at women and work, called Mature Masculine Power?
Well one item from that program really hit me this week, because we literally had to master it in order to develop the program.
I call it the Prometheus Power Instinct.
I was at this freaky music gathering, like a “drum circle” of about twelve people or so, and the music leader was right in front of me playing guitar and chanting. This sort of thing is designed to get you into a mental state called Theta State – which is where the pattern of brainwaves in your head are “entrained” to the most creative pattern for our thinking.
That’s my explanation of Yoga and chanting and mantras anyway.
Well it turns out this music leader guy is the identical twin of singer Alanis Morrissette.
As I said, unusual experience.
As I told you above, I was sitting in front of Wade Morrissette, the twin brother of singer Alanis Morrissette.
So he’s surrounded by all these tree lights, which looked like little sparks or flames even though they were electric. And as we got deeper into Theta State as a group, I let my mind wander on all the material I have been developing for you lately.
And no, I’m not into any peripheral “items” involved with DeadHeads, and the whole drum circle culture. All pure, natural creativity.
What came to mind?
The story of Prometheus.
And as I thought about it, it was the tree lights, the SPARKS that did it to me.
Prometheus was the Titan who “stole fire from the gods” and gave it to humans. He is the statue in the courtyard of Rockefeller Center in NYC for those of you wondering about a depiction. So he was a god of technology and innovation, discipline, driving ambition and generativity – kindness to new generations.
So after he has done this, the other gods punish him with vultures endlessly eating his guts (symbolic of the harm that new technology can do), but let’s not focus on the negative.
It made me think about SPARKS within flames, and that even when a flame has died (which represents your CONFIDENCE “dying” in this case), sparks and embers may still remain.
If you have ever held out hope that you could get a women back into your life (as in “carry a torch for” someone), or that you could get the interest of a particular woman in the first place…
If you have ever had a dream job in mind, or victory in a contest, or a whole new life you’ve wanted, a reinvention of yourself…
Then Prometheus is your man, and this blog entry on the “Prometheus Circuit” I talk about in the new Mature Masculine Power is for you.
Prometheus stole fire from the gods, and you may recall from some of my past newsletters that fire symbolizes masculinity (and sometimes its ripples upward into confidence too.)
Yet fire, and light in general, also symbolize “enlightenment.”
So it’s possible to interpret you either way – as in need of some fire lit under you (to be more motivated, emboldening your courage, and masculinity), or else as enlightened about your own worth in doing whatever you please with your behavior, including just comfortably observing.
Either way, the Prometheus Circuit of your masculine instinct MATTERS.
If you check out the MMP, you’ll notice that the idea of a “spark” can be used at ANY time there is potential for opportunity or change.
Light it on Fire!
If you suddenly got inspired to attract women, and be more assertive, you could do that, and if you are actually unconfident, or feeling low on the masculinity (which is ultimately the real thing that attracts women globally), you can always take a little spark between you and a woman, or you and an environment, and stoke the ember from there, instantly starting a “social fire” so to speak.
You might even involve this skill of your masculinity in the idea that ever with the tiniest bit of confidence or the slightest move toward courage, you CAN expand, and again, STOKE THE SOCIAL FIRE, starting from the smallest “spark.”
A fire can blow out and die, it can be rained on, sputter, be covered by dirt from other men, or due to neglect on your own part, it can expire.
But embers tend to last, almost dormant, still smoldering, a spark flying here or there.
Likewise, your confidence and connectedness to your own masculinity can sputter in the winds of the up and down economy – the job market around you. It can be doused by the rains of new, unexpected bills or the encounter with a group of pretty mean girls. You, yourself can neglect them and let them consume your resources without being used to cook, for light and heat, or to celebrate or tell stories around.
But all it takes to bring back that connectedness to the masculinity and confidence, those reserves, is a spark of attraction, an opportunity for a new job, new woman, or new insight. The spark lets you know the ember is there – it still exists – and a whole new fire can rise only when you TAKE ACTION to stoke the flames, to boldly capitalize on opportunity.
Tales of a Traveling Attraction
I once had a gorgeous female traveling friend who eventually married a not so physically attractive man.
A few years passed before I met up with her again, and one of the things I asked was how it was that her husband captured her interest.
She said that he may have not been much to look at at first, but he grew on her, “mainly through his PERSISTENCE.”
He wouldn’t quit, which was not to say that he was needy, obsessive, stalkerish, or a pest, but that he was quietly confident in his persistence.
This is the Prometheus Power Instinct in you – that the sparks will still crackle off the embers of the fire you had long since thought was dead.
But with mature patience, persistence, and a quiet sense of cool, your Observing Ego turned on, you can capture the moment of opportunity, and start nearly new, from that last fading spark of passion if that’s what it takes.
Prometheus, and all the “circuits” of the reptilian brain, the Power Instincts, are yours for the learning – like the tools in the utility belt of a superhero – in the new Mature Masculine Power Course.
