My Father's Death One Year Later

 

On June 4, it will have been a year since my father died.   On the website Women's Happiness  on what it is like for a middle-aged woman to lose an elderly parent.    My father died two months short of his ninetieth birthday from complications from a fall down a flight of stairs.   He sustained a brain injury which the doctors could not treat because my father had heart problems.

Have you ever thought what would it be like to party like you were friends with a celebrity, like what if you partied with Jay-z once or what if you were great friends with Eminem, or maybe you shared a few with Hugh Hefnar?

The Magic Pill

Daybreak, another one announced by your alarm. Thinking, God I hate that sound, staying in bed. It goes off a second time; you doze off again, dreading its sound to come, inevitable, after the final ten-minute snooze expires. You drift back into a deep slumber. Again, it goes off. After the third and final chirping melody, you stumble out from under, leaving the warmth of your sheets.

The Lost Art of Contemplation

As I writing this, the Governor of Massachusetts has just lifted the shut down in the Boston area due to the chasing of the suspect of the bombing of the Boston Marathon.  Where I live things were quiet.  During the shutdown I was keeping in touch with people using Facebook.
