Magic VS Optimistic Thinking

Magic VS Optimistic Thinking

When I was watching the new http://www.menspsychology.com/courses/vip-coaching-program there was the term magic thinking that was brought up when people just want to wish and things will happen. Things like get rich quick scams, losing weight without changing your diet are things that I think are just magic thinking. Then I got to thinking is when I get up in the morning on Monday for work and think that this is going to be a awesome day is that magic thinking too? Is magic thinking on a spectrum with optimistic thinking on the other end? I buy a lottery knowing that the odds are pretty low of winning. For a few minutes I can dream of all of the things I might do with the winnings…Yes it would be something. I remember the first day that I went back to school knowing that I was going to graduate. I knew that it was going to be a process; it was going to be a commitment of time and financial resources. I too dreamed of when I would be done and graduated. It struck me that when you make a choice to control the outcome and decide that you are committed then that magic thinking flips to optimistic thinking. When you can set a step by step rough outline of how you plan to get something and use you observing ego to help with always moving forward then you can be a magical optimistically awake and aware person.
