That "bridge" between first meeting and first date, first date and many dates, casual dating versus a girlfriend are completely composed of "bonding" with feelings of "friendship," which is in fact one and the same as what we call "love."

Did you ever notice that as a man, it is quite possible to "desire" a woman but not "love" her - at least until you get to know her and actually bond in friendship?
That is because friendship or love happen in a different part of the brain from where "lust" or "desire," or Sexual Attraction occur.
If you've ever felt that a date has gone on too long, or that an entire relationship has gone on too long - you realize that you have "fallen out of love" it's said - but you are conflicted, because part of you "still loves her," even while you don't feel like sleeping with her anymore?
Then you have lost Sexual Attraction for her, but still feel a friendship. You do in fact still love her, but just don't desire her. You may even feel happy when you are around her, supported by her, and feel like supporting her efforts in life too.
