Books for Men

This week's MP Top 5 for Men is about books that refine your life in terms of your skill with women, work, and being a man in general (of course!)

Since you've been asking for quite some time what my most recommended books are (no, they are NOT about Evolutionary Psychology), I thought I would finally surrender. I'll also avoid recommending MEN'S NOVELS since some of the great film recommendations are derived from great novels (The Count of Monte Cristo being one of them...)

The real truth is that we find it nearly impossible to list just "five top books" since men ought to be very widely read, and for those seeking shortcuts on knowledge and grow, to do so would be misleading. (We'd rather suggest 5 brands of online encyclopedia and twice as many university studies programs...)

Also, women are not nearly as into short, efficient lists as a substitute for a rich literary experience like - ahem - some men are.  They LOVE books. LONG ones with a great narrative story...

...But if you must insist, why don't we get you started on a wealth of learning with 5 good reads for now (other than our own!) ... And consider the efficiency of seeing at least the one below as a film:

1. Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist is the one business book that you never would have suspected to be a business book. Actually, it's another adventure similar in rich detail to Love in the Time of Cholera, only on the process of a boy finding his way in the world, and his MISSION.  Along the way, as is supposed to happen in life, he learns the deep lessons of what it is to be human, and what connections to others we cannot do without along the way. The perfect MP course companions are both the Mature Masculine Power Program and the MindOS Mastery Program.

2. Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera is not what you were thinking I'd recommend for understanding women, romance and yourself. No, I NEVER recommend the lists that every dating guru out there recommends, or works of "self-help." To understand women, you have to think like a woman (at least for the time you are learning about them), and a NOVEL has the rich storytelling that mimics the rich way that women think about love. This is one of the most loved books on love in existence. The companion MP course would certainly be the full coverage of human courtship called the Omega Male Program.

3. William Golding's Lord of the Flies is the masterwork on human (animal) nature in males. With a forward by psychoanalyst Erich Fromm, this book explains the deep roots of war and conflict in the male unconscious, the natural tendency to form hierarchies and government, and the pains and destruction it can take for humans to emerge from childhood to become civilized adults. A close second is to simply visit a college fraternity. The companion MP course would be the Mature Masculine Power Program.

4. Victor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning is the compendium on finding hope, a mission for your life, and weathering the worst that life has to offer is rich with drama and insight. More than enough to lead you into a study of philosophy on one hand, or the related modern field of psychology. In fact, reading about both philosophers (summarized, for efficiency), and early psychoanalysts will cover the gamut of human behavior and challenges, insights and solutions better than any self-helpy author can. The companion program from Men's Psychology would also be the philosophy and psychoanalysis synthesis called the MindOS Mastery Course - everything about the workings of the psyche in simple, everyday terms.

5. Stephen Pressfield's The War of Art is not just for writers and artists. It's a way of contending with the masculine need to innovate and not just BE creative, but to bring out your best efforts in both of the main areas of life - from planning a unique date, to deciding on a whole new career direction. For writers and artists,Stephen King's On Writing is a close second. If you wanted to apply creativity to your relations to women, the MP companion course to this would be The Gentleman's Toolbox ebook.

Enjoy!

These are remarkable books that begin a rich development as a man of Masculine Intelligence®...
