If you listen to this and don't feel moved or humbled you have not understood it. Purely studying the behaviour of the human species without considering the stage in which it is set is a fools folly. One surely needs to understand the world and the universe upon which we live, in order to understand the context, the reason for why we do the things that we do. Without it we just have statistics, descriptions with no meaning. I like this quote/speech because it reminds me of the grander stage on which our lives are set, humbles yourself, and also reminds you not to take your own and others moans and groans too seriously either. Highlights the importance of reading widely and spreading one's knowledge over a range of subjects. I know I used to feel that the contemplations of the cosmos, of our place in the universe to be somewhat creepy, and made me feel insecure. Now having come to terms with our place in the universe and the temporary nature of our existence, I feel empowered to make the most of it. To live life with a smile upon your face and to do what you enjoy. You'll never get another chance to do it again. This is the only time you will walk this earth, the only time you will have a chance to make of it what you can. Don't idly sit by and watch it go past without doing what you can with it, we are the lucky ones who won the ridiculously improbable lottery of being able to live at all.

Sometimes the ancients say it best. Read this recently but found it quite inspiring. A reminder to take action and try -no matter how far behind you may think you are.

I work in racing and this one is great for dealing with high stress situations....but its crude and to the point..but very true especially if you have people looking to you for a decision.

What i interprete this as, is when something external and out of your control IS happening espec in a work enviroment you need to be calm to not over react and make a calm mature decision based on the facts in front of you (observing ego). Where i heard it im not sure....but i think its a very good mind set to have when your in a high stress work situation. Its not very philosophical maybe, but very practical!!!

This is a line I have heard many times in action films, but how Dr Paul uses it particularly gives it great meaning to me.

I am I man in my early 30's, and there is pressure from my social group, society, media etc to settle down get married and have kids.

But I am not ready I have lots of "unfinished business" to do with my mission, life experiences and experiences with many more more women.

Today I finally solved a personal struggle which has effected me for years, if I was married that would taken much longer and if kids where in the picture, I probably would never have solved it.

I intend to carry on this way until I feel content and ready to take on such a big commitment, even though this may never come.

I have a couple. I find them pretty powerful.
