Totally wild offering for IMAGE/FASHION

Postby Josh Zydlo » Mon May 10, 2010 1:29 am

Available only to On Demand Members, ATnoir (Adnan) and I want to deliver a special teleseminar for guys who are interested in a special fashion teleseminar. We have never offered anything like this before -EVER. Based on past seminars I'd expect this call to go about one to two hours, and we may even need a follow-up call.

Based on the responses to this poll question we may decide to open it up to all members. Adnan and I get bombarded with requests during live seminars. If you've ever looked into working with a professional Image consultant you'll find the standard hourly rate goes up to $300/hour. And I'll tell you what, we are the best of the best out there. We may have differing opinions on certain viewpoints, but overall you'll be getting a European viewpoint and an American viewpoint together in one call. Here are several testimonials I've collected:

Seminar Presentation:
I met Josh at a recent "Omega Male" seminar in which he spoke at a workshop on the topic of fashion. Overall I really got a lot out the material he presented. I didn't realize this quite as much until I took a good look at how I previously viewed fashion in my younger years. This being the case let me give just a quick background:

In my high school and college years my fashion identity was highly tied to my social circle and ultimately my interests. While I always avoided being a "copy cat", it was much easier to find an "image" or "style" back then. As I got into my mid 20's this all began to change. Most of this can be attributed to the fact that both my social circles and interests broadened. While I'm proud of this growth, it certainly makes one's "style" or fashion identity much more complex, and even ambiguous at times. With age I found myself dressing to impress others, or to fit-in, more or less. I found myself abiding by mass-cultural "rules" as well, for which I didn't feel truly comfortable with. So now fast forward to Josh's material presented in the seminar!

Josh's material points towards a more "middle ground" in regards to fashion and style. Unlike modern day marketing, he doesn't tell you exactly WHAT to wear, within the framework of "what's hot" for the masses, like a magazine would. Rather, he reveals ways to create your own fashion sense that is truly yours, while still avoiding tragic mistakes. I found the following 11 topics that Josh addresses most helpful:

1. The importance of fashion and identity in displaying your values, interests, and social status (he even pulls some great points from notable philosophers & authors!)

2. The importance of first impressions. (IE, what we are communicating to others).

3. The difference between fashion and style. Yes, they are different and knowing this is CRUCIAL!!

4. How fashion has evolved, and who is driving these changes.

5. Common mistakes that most guys make, and how these mistakes can ruin your style, regardless of what it is. (Trust me, I have both seen and committed many of these in my day!)

7. "Golden rules" of fashion: I found these to be guidelines to various fashions and styles, but NOT rules telling you WHAT to wear. Rather, these reveal HOW to wear or not to wear something.

8. The overriding importance of how one should "feel" in clothing, as opposed to trying to impress others.

9. How and when to update when you go shopping for clothes. In this section Josh also points out important pitfalls to avoid when buying new clothes.

10. HYGIENE. 'Nuff said!!

11. Why one should be very skeptical of fashions that gain sudden hype very quickly, and conversely what fashions will "stay in" for the long run.

Since the seminar I have developed a much better "sense" of what to look for, and how to mix different fashions to create my own style. I've even rediscovered styles I didn't think I'd be able to "pull off" anymore. Overall Josh's ideas helped me to see fashion and style as possibilities, as opposed to limitations.

Thanks to Josh's material I spend more time now paying attention to style in general. You will often notice while out and about in the general public, be it night or day, that those people with a unique sense of style often seem to be the most comfortable and confident. Allow me to be blunt here, but if you look at the guys out there with the hottest girls, you will see they typically have a unique style that fits them. Coincidence?! Hmm.

Online Makeover:
I participated in Josh’s online makeover in the fall of 2007.

I had never really been a person who paid much attention to fashion at all, so I did not have much of a clue on where to start. The one thing I did know was that I needed to update my wardrobe, but just being told to buy this or pick that wasn’t helpful, I needed to know why and start to develop a sense for fashion myself.

To start with, Josh had a very detailed questionnaire to fill out and requested pictures of your current wardrobe, shoes and you dressed in them. Anyone who decides to use Josh’s service would want to remember the more effort you put into this step, the better your makeover will turn out. I took many pictures and filled out the questionnaire as completely as I could, even going back over it a couple times during the week. This way Josh could tell exactly where I was, what I was doing right, and most importantly what I was not doing right and what I could improve on.

Josh started with fit, color and patterns in relation to my body type and KWML. He explained how these can either enhance your look or detract from it. He used specific examples from my own pictures to illustrate these points. He then gave suggestions on what to do with my current wardrobe and then suggestions on items I should add.

He then sent several pages of examples (pictures) of items he would recommend. Each had current prices as well as the stores I could purchase them at. This included tops, jackets, pants, jeans and shoes/boots. He also explained what different fabrics, colors and combinations tend to communicate.

I read over the makeover several times and then went to a men’s store to get a couple of new outfits based on what I had learned. As I walked in I had two salesmen there to help me, one was similar in body type to me (thinner) the other was a heavyset guy. It was very interesting to see what each suggested and would bring over. While the heavyset guy was a nice guy he kept bringing over things he would typically wear. Armed with the knowledge from my makeover I could see how these were not for me and would actually detract from my appearance based on my body type. My gosh, I think I was actually getting it!!

Now granted there is no way I will become a fashion guru in an afternoon, but what I do have in an understanding of the basics of fashion and what fit, colors, fabrics and combinations communicate both in terms of my physique, my KWML and their general meaning. Thanks Josh!

Phone Coaching:
Josh Zydlo's fashion knowledge and expertise are extraordinary. The coaching services that he offers are unique and a first rate value. No one out there, other than Josh, gives men specific pointers and tips about fashion to give themselves a competitive, masculine edge. I came to Josh with a limited shopping budget. He gave me told me specific items to buy, where to find them, and how I can shop online to stretch my money even further. I bought two new "power outfits" one for going out on the town, and one for work. I look great in both, and as a result have a boost of confidence when I wear them! In addition, Josh taught me what to do when I go shopping in the future.

There's so much in life that we don't control. It's important to use our resources effectively to make the most out of the only thing that we really do control ourselves. A well dressed man communicates to his employer, business associates, and the women in his life that he is a man of high value who is in control of himself; he is someone that they want to keep around. Josh will teach you how to dress like that man! Coaching with Josh is an investment in yourself that will yield dividends for years to come. Don't buy another piece of clothing with out speaking to Josh first!

I don't have any of Adnan's testimonials, probably because he lives in London, and because his results speak for themselves. We are top notch, and among a very few select people who can effectively relate fashion to psychology in an easy to understand way. If you vote on this poll and want to partake in this call, please submit your questions here or email Adnan or myself personally and we will tackle your questions. My email is josh@menspsychology.com; you can contact Adnan at adnan@menspsychology.com.

Awesome, guys! :D

First of all, let me ask you this, since it will be an image and fashion teleseminar, would it be possible to have it recorded? (as is usually done with Dr Paul's teleseminars on Tuesdays).

Well, to everyone reading this, let me tell you that I can speak from first hand experience about Adnan's and Josh's expertise on the subject. During my trip to Europe (where the Omega Seminar was held in February, 2010), both Adnan (for the most part) and Josh gave me some great advice and suggestions on how to improve my attire and image.
I have to admit that until then I was making some huge mistakes, specially related to the fit of the clothes, and the kind of shoes I would wear. In the last 3 nights in Europe, after the "fashion makeover", I received plenty of compliments from both men and women on my appearance, even though these new clothes "didn't seem like me" at first.

Then when I returned to Argentina (the country I live in) I was a bit worried that maybe the clothes and items Adnan had helped me choose wouldn't be appropriate/suitable in Argentina, since we are talking about different countries and different cultures.
However, based on the tips I had received from him, I was able to make some slight modifications (by trusting my new fashion sense, and by using other people's feedback) and I can tell you now that in the last month or so I've received more compliments on my appearance (from both men and women) than I'd ever received in my whole life! (in a similar period of time)

For instance, when I go out, women tend to comment on how great my hat is (that Adnan helped me pick) and ask me where I got it (lol, in England, I reply).

Ah, and also, the 2 pair of socks that Josh helped me pick up at a store in London are absolutely the best socks I've ever had. Seriously. They are so comfortable and nice-looking that I can't believe it. I wish I had bought more of those (but I was short on money that day, haha).

Anyway, in conclusion: attend this call, you won't regret it!

Cheers! :D

Just for your information, Adnan worked with papa way more than I did.

I think we will be hosting this seminar in about 2-3 weeks, and update you all with a more specific date. We want to test out of few things first and smooth over the rough edges IT-wise. My hopes are to deliver the Omega Male Seminar presentation on Fashion. This typically runs about an hour to an hour-and-a-half in a live setting. Yet, I can't make any promises about that at this point. There is one thing I do know, we will give you a whole new perspective on fashion/image.

I'm down guys.

My questions would have to do with matching clothes color to skin tone and hair color. I can either submit a picture or just take general advice on it. I've been told to wear autumn colors. 1) Not sure if I know what exactly qualifies 2) Not sure if that's right.

How about this.... You can do two things. One, you can upload your photo as an attachment as a reply post for this topic. That way everyone can learn from your question. (You might want to consider blurring your face via MS Paint or something, I don't care what the hell you do.)

Option two, you can email me or Adnan personally and we will cover it for everyone. It all comes down to you, how bold are you? All I know is this, everyone here is part of a special band-of-brothers. Everyone's challenges enrich all of us. I was watching a TV mini series the other day, and there was one line that stuck with me. "We can combine our resources and fight as one, or we can do otherwise and die as two."

Since this is the free forum (and hence less private than the Members' forum below), maybe it would be good to create this same thread on the Fashion and Lifestyle forum category of the Members University forum, so that the guys can upload their pictures there, with less concern of their privacy and anonymity being compromised.

What do you guys think of this?

Cheers! :D

Email your pictures to me and Josh. This way, we both get an idea of who is who and what we are working with. I'm definitely better when it comes to visuals and can spot straight away where can be improved rather than trying to imagine what needs to be changed.

I still work part time in fashion where I first learned my trade and see people daily who look the part. I also see daily people who look far from it. Whilst the old adage tells us not to judge a book by it's cover, the fact of the matter is we all do and to an extent rightly so. When you see an overweight woman, who is poorly attired and groomed what is your reaction? Do you want to date and know this woman? Do you think she respects herself or would make a worthy partner or even date?

I can't wait for these calls. I can also send you out before and after shots of someone I worked with recently.

Really??? 97 views on this topic and only 13 responses to a click-on poll? It's not even like we are going to take roll call. You won't get "docked" Dr. Paul membership points or anything. Guy's, I don't know if you've ever met me in person, but I'm a bit of a ball-buster. This isn't going to be some gay conversation that Carson Kressley would provide on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

It's just like that expression: give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach him how to fish and feed him for life (just get out of my damn pond). Adnan and myself will teach you the "how" and "why." I like guns, hunting, fishing, ice hockey, chewing tobacco, big-ass bond fires that make the "greens" scream about CO2 levels, I can drive a 30K-pound Fork Lift, my first car was a Chevy Suburban. Despite all that, I've worked in the fashion industry for so long and navigated it successfully for 12 going on 13 years now.

If you want to listen in on this call you had better well damn vote for it. We're close to our maximum for making this available to free members, but since we will only do a call like this once or twice a year I want everyone possible on the line. You might want to consider joining even if it's just for this call. Don't believe me, I have testimonials up the wazoo.

I'll tell you this. Adnan and I cannot make anyone on this call a fashion rockstar. Spreading falsehoods is not what we're here for. However, we can provide the mechanisms on how to dress. This teleseminar will be different in that we will be doing a PowerPoint on fashion on your computer.

The tentative date and time is the 6th of June, probably about 14:00 Chicago time. It will go over an hour and possibly up to two hours. I can talk for hours about this subject; Adnan (ATnoir) is no different.

I should also add that myself and Josh have contrasting styles whilst singing from the same hymn sheet. Think of it in Omega Male terms:- Reptilian is all the same, emotional 1 of 4, higher though is totally unique. We both know the nuts and bolts BUT we don't dress the same or teach in the same way. Josh is very classically cool and has a simple sophistication. I am far louder in my dress sense and prefer to stand out. We recognise though that what works for us as individuals isn't what will work for you- just like developing your own Omega Male method.

And just in case you prefer a more queer eye for the straight guy, I have a bright pink cardigan that I look awesome in and the ladies love but Josh detests as much as British teeth.

Imagine if one simple thing as tweaking your appearance could be the one thing that helps you get to a higher level in mission and dating. Would you be willing to spend a couple of hours to find out?

Actually, Adnan's pink cardigan is endearing.... in a Carson Kressely way

We will try to stay professional as possible, but I can't promise that locker room talk will not run rampant. Once I get a feel for you guys that decide to call in, it's wide open - no shame - no glory.

Took some pictures today.
Wish I had a full-length mirror, though. Bathroom mirror sufficed, though (felt like MySpace kid or something).

I'll put them up on a webpage, mabe? I'm comfortable with sharing with all of you on this site. So, I can either give the address on the call or post it on the OnDemand forum...or just post fuzzed out pictures on the public side.
